Robert J. Pape Jr. resides in Port Washington with his wife and three children. He has lived in Port Washington for over 30 years, establishing a successful professional career and extensive leadership within his local community.
Between his career and volunteer work, Pape has dedicated much of his time to working with nonprofit organizations as an advisor and fundraiser. He has used his innovative business skills, leadership, and communication skills to build strong, trusting relationships that help to achieve an organization’s financial and philanthropic goals.
Recently, Robert J. Pape Jr. has worked with the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) as the Director of Major Gifts. As an agency of the Vatican, the CNEWA strives to provide pastoral support for churches in the East. CNEWA also works to increase humanitarian aid and support for individuals living in India, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Ukraine. As an individual of great faith with a strong desire to help others, Robert J. Pape Jr. has loved his role of increasing mission awareness for CNEWA and facilitating major and planned gifts for the program’s sustainability and expansion.
Another major aspect of Pape’s life is working with and volunteering in the fire service. Robert J. Pape Jr. has been a firefighter with the Port Washington Fire Department since 2000 as a member of the Atlantic Hook and Ladder Company No.1. Just one year after beginning his time with the fire service, Robert J. Pape Jr. became a first responder during the 2001 9/11 attacks.
Between his courageous acts as a firefighter and philanthropic efforts in his career and volunteer work, Robert J. Pape Jr. has earned many honors, awards, and recognitions for his work. While working as a Catechist for eighth grade religion students, Pape received the Pope Pius X Medal for fifteen years of continuous service with the St. Peter of Alcantara Parish in Port Washington.
He earned the 9/11 Service Ribbon for Fire Chaplains after his selfless acts and services during the 9/11 attacks. He was also awarded the Emergency Medical Service Life Saving Award for saving the life of an individual undergoing a cardiac arrest emergency on the street with his EMS unit. He has been honored with the Firefighter Service Award on six separate occasions from the Atlantic Hook & Ladder Company No 1. Of the Port Washington Fire Department. Robert J. Pape Jr. has also been recognized for his efforts in supporting and protecting the Nassau County community during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 with the Hurricane Sandy Meritorious Service Award.
